The best way is to stretch your lips (smile) and follow the natural line of your lips and then, apply the lipstick or gloss. Try ho have a matching lip liner with your gloss or lipstick otherwise you'll look more like a clown. Your line shouldn't be thick. How do u apply lip liner?
Use a well-sharpened pencil, stretch your upper lip over your teeth (not really ';smiling,'; though), and hold the pencil at a sharp upward angle so that the side of the pencil tip is also touching your lip. The very tip of the pencil should be drawing the outline of your lips, and the side of the tip will fill in a little inside your lips. This way you don't have obvious lines drawn around the lips, but you still get the definition you want. Then a light colored or clear gloss or even chapstick over it will give you a pretty, but natural looking pout.

You picked a good color
Knowing the shape of lips, you can correct your lip shape and can make you look attractive.

Thick lips - This type of lip appear smaller if you draw the outline just within the natural shape. You must use medium toned lip color and avoid dark brows, plums and pale shimmer shades .

Thin lips - They can be easily corrected by taking the pencil outside the natural lip line. Work on it slowly and steadily to get the perfect shape. Fill in with the lipstick. A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would create an impression of fullness .

Shapeless lips - Try to make the most flattering shape by stressing the centre of the lips and then fill.
stretched lips, it will be way easier and look better.

Use short, light strokes, don't try to do it all in one line!

Thats a good colour but at 12 you definately don't need lip liner,

try a tinted lip gloss, or tinted chapstick.

But if you're using it for lipstick make sure to fill in your entire lip with the pencil

you don't want to look like pamela anderson...(hopefully)

Open your mouth, and keep your mouth round like you were going to put your finger in your mouth. Follow the natural line of your lips. Line it evenly, paying attention to the corners of your mouth. If you don't line it here your mouth will look disconnected!! Fill it in a little on your lips, and apply lip color about the same shade or a a little lighter.Rub your lips together, blot with a tissue if you feel it is too shiny.
