Well, the key now is to not only outline the natural lipline (NEVER go outside) but also shade the inside. It keeps glosses on longer. As long as the brown fits your skin tone (obviously not really dark if you have pale skin) it looks fine, assuming it's paired with a gloss over it.
depending on the shade of brown...it can look very flattering for your lips and give them a fuller look. I wouldn't go with a dark brown, go with a color that looks best with your skin tone and find a lipstick or gloss that matches the liner you use. You don't want the liner to stand out too much that sometimes looks tacky.

Outdated! Try a natural nude color. The objective of a lip liner is to keep lipstick trapped on your lips (reduces spread to the area around), so really, it should never be seen.
if its done right, it can look fine, but not for me.
its not for me...mostly i think its outdated...but some girls can pull it off!
Lip liner was never meant to show;it's very disconcerting and unattractive.Lip liners are available in clear pencil(Prescriptives).If you must use liner,it must match your lipstick and it must be smudged over with a q-tip before applying the lip color.Otherwise,it looks tacky and outdated
