Why do people hate lip liner?

Because they don't know how to use it properly. Makeup artists use lip iner on anyone who either needs definition, reshaping, or larger lips. Lipsticks do not work for the above nearly as well. Look closely in the magazines and you will see many models wearing a brownish pink shade of lip liner just outside their natural lip line. These are the ones who had makeup artists that don't know how to camouflage, but they ALL wear lip liner to make their lips bigger unless they get injections. Lip liner also keeps your lipstick from bleeding but foundation also does that.Why do people hate lip liner?
Lip liner can be used for a few reasons.


1. It stops feathering of lipstick or lip gloss,on young and old or the well seasoned lips!


2. It helps to define the shape of ones lips.


3. Adds fullness to top or bottom lip.


The liner should match the color of the lip color that you are applying(somewhat). It should never stand out from the applied total lip color. make up is a total package, one should look at the whole face, not the ';Make up'; or ';Look at liner on lips'; or '; Did you see liner on those eyes';?Why do people hate lip liner?
Lip liner is a 90's fad and hasn't been in style for a while. Nowadays the only people you see wearing lip liner are old ladies and hood rats (really ghetto girls) When worn tastefully I see nothing wrong with lip liner. It's the girls who wear lip liner and no lipstick that society hates.
For me personally, I think it makes me look disgusting and kind of slutty-ish.. no offense to those who like it. I don't hate it, I just never liked it. I'm talkin dark lip liner with light colored lip stick = fugly. But if you make it the same color as your lipstick, thta's pretty good. Lip liner's suppose to shape out your lips.. for me though, I jst think it looks uglier on a girl. No offense again.
It is clear none of the above have had any experience of lip-liner applied in the correct way, it is not trashy, sleazy or slutty when I wear it, I assure you.





I wear red lipstick every day and it is necessary to wear red lip-liner with it to stop it feathering.
i don't hate it, but i have no use for it since i don't wear lipstick very often. it's very useful though, especially if you're wearing red lipstick.
because its too easy to make it look trashy

outlining your plane lips in something dark just looks disgusting.
Because if you can see it , it lookssooo trashy!





Only use clear, lip liner is to stop lipstick from running, not for paint by numbers on your face!
Sometimes it likes to seep into wrinkles or cracks around the lips, making those marks stand out like crazy. No one wants to outline that!
Because it's sleezy
because it's so hard to draw the lips well.
