What's the point of lip liner?

It looks stupid.What's the point of lip liner?
it prevents your lipstick from bleeding a provides a crisp line. you need lipstick or lipcolor over it though, something about the same color . plain lipliner on its own isnt a good look.

Alot of times if you don't wear lip liner along with stick, the color will go out on to the outside of your mouth- looking REALLY stupid.





And yes, I can see were you think wearing lip liner by ITSELF looks stupid, but that's not what it's meant for. If you wear liner and stick together (matching!) it looks just fine.
If you apply it carefully and properly it defines your lips and stops the lipstick/lipgloss going outside the lips looking retarded. I personally don't wear it very much at all.... but I reckon it's all about choosing the right shade and accurate application.
Nobody needs a lipliner unless they have a weird shaped lip and they want to correct it, or they are trying to make their lips bigger looking
