Should your lip liner match or contrast with your lipstick?

Though a few tarty types (hello, Lil' Kim!) still sport the dark-outline thing, it's a dated look. The best mouth-defining approach: Match your lip pencil to your lipstick. ';You'll make your lips look fuller and give them a cleaner shape,'; says New York City celebrity makeup artist Vincent Longo. Start by lining and filling in your mouth with a lip pencil. ';This step creates an intense laying down of color and makes whatever you apply next last longer,'; Longo says. Finish with a matching lipstick, stain or gloss. The one exception to this rule: Use a flesh-toned pencil under any color of lipstick or gloss. If you don't think you have a steady enough hand to use a dark color or don't want to make your lipstick look deeper in hue, they're more forgiving and do just as good a job.Should your lip liner match or contrast with your lipstick?
it definitly has to match. dont make it the same color, make it a little bit darker so that it isnt very noticable but will make ur lips look better. hope this helps.Should your lip liner match or contrast with your lipstick?
Match. I've seen many girls and women who (currently) have it contrast and it looks really trampy, to put it nicely.
The lip liner look is outdated. Instead use a nice shade that brightens your face and apply a little gloss on the centre of your lower n upper lip.
The liner should be a hair darker than the lipstick. This way the liner isn't noticeable, but it gives the lips definition.
it should match the color of your lips
It should be a tint darker than your lipstick for natural, full lips.

Don't worry about trends, fads, etc. Just apply lip products that look attractive, pretty, and makes you feel good :-)
unless your like 80 dont wear lip liner it takes away from your face
It has to match or else it looks like a dragqueen. Try using a lipliner that matches the colour of your lipstick/lipgloss. Then after lining it start at the middle of your lips and then from the corners. After lining, remember to fill in the rest of your lips for your lipstick or lipgloss to stay on longer!
match the liner to the color of your lips like a nude color
Did you see eminem's wife kim mathers??? omg she had this black liner thing going and then pale lipstick on, omg that is bad contrast!
In the past it has had to contrast. Now that is tacky. It has to match. You don猫t even really need lip liner anymore.
in this century it's match.......contrast was sooo last century...
MATCH! Contrast is tacky and a trend from 1995.
I use a slightly darker shade of liner than my lip color because it makes my lips look fuller.
your lip liner should almost match. if you go 1 shade darker, it outlines your lips and makes them appear fuller and bigger. but be cautious as to where you outline the lips. make sure it is on the natural edge of your lip, and not a ';created'; one.
